Engine Ratings Licence

In the United Arab Emirates (UAE), an Engine Ratings Licence is required for individuals who wish to work as engine room ratings on board ships registered under the UAE flag. An engine room rating is a crew member who assists the engineering department on board a ship.

To obtain an Engine Ratings Licence in the UAE, individuals must meet certain eligibility criteria and complete the required training and examinations. The eligibility criteria include being at least 18 years of age, being medically fit, and having completed the required seafarer training.

The training required for an Engine Ratings Licence in the UAE typically includes completing the STCW Basic Safety Training course, which covers topics such as personal survival techniques, fire prevention and fire-fighting, elementary first aid, and personal safety and social responsibility.
